Golconda Fort is basically situated in Hyderabad which was originally known as Mankal. The name Golcomda was deived from the telugu words “Golla” and “Konda” which
means “Sherpherd’s Hill.It is also known as Golkonda Fort just because of this reason.

As per the story,facts, historians there was a shepherd boy who was coming down the hills and he was the idol of god.this news was heard by the king if kakatiya
dynasty. Then the ruler of KAKATIYA DYNASTY decided to built a fort which was now known as Golconda Fort.
At first it was under the reign of Warangal and later in the 14th century it was controlled over by Bahamani Sultan and lastly in the 17th century it was under
Qutub Shahi Dynansty. It is said that this was the principal capital of this dynasty.

The Golconda Fort is acquiring a huge area of more than 3km and it is 4.8km long. It comprises of huge walls, mosques,palaces and hill top pavillion.
The architectural excellence id so great that if a person claps at a certain point of the fort the sound can be heard clearly of the top of the pavillion.
In the fort itself one of the most attracted spot is RAMDAS’s PRISON. He was a revenue collectorin Abdul Hasan court. Many walls were carved by him. It can be seen
many carvings of Lord Hanuman are still there. Two diyas and lamps are kept there in front of it everyday.
tehr main entrance is known as Fateh Darwaza or a Victory Gate when the Aurangzeb’s army passes through the gate.
The architecture of the whole fort is so amazing that it attracts a lot of visitors everyday.
Another interesting attraction overe here is the 800 years old tree which is 80 feet tall and big.

The shwo is organised in and around the Rani Mahal. tehre are a lot of visitors in the show. It is conducted in 3 languages that is Enlish ,Hindi and telugu.
The sound and light show of the fort is conducted in the voice of the legend artist Amitabh Bachchan on Tuesday, Thursday,Saturday and Sunday.

the show begins from 6:00PM to 9:00PM depends upon the month you visits.
It is closed on Monday.
In the month of November to Febuary the first show begins from 6:30PM and the second show begins from 7:45PM.
In the month of March to October the forst show begins from 7:00PM and the second show begins from 8:15PM.

It is not like that you cant visit but preferably September to March is considered to be the perfect time to visit because
the summers are hotter in Hyderabad.

There are many other recommendations to visit the places like the Qutub Shahi Forts and Taramati Baradari.
